Yes unless caught inside the national Park, in which case no
There are some camps that require a permit, which is $20, and some that are gratis. These are listed on the website.
A must-see if you haven't already. Best time is during the week, in early spring, late fall, no crowds. Check with NPS website for road conditions, weather, etc.
Got to do the gondola ride at crystal mountain. Really cool.
Yep!
It is absolutely stunning! No matter the time of year!!
Yes
It is off of Paradise Valley Road where it intersects with Van Trump Creek. There should be signs and road parking.
It's a 93 mile long hike that goes around Mt. Rainier. It takes an average of 10-14 days to complete it, but many people hike small portions of it each year.
Of course just remember the rules
Always been one of my favorite places. Absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful park. Lot to explore and easy trails to walk.. look out for the beauty of wild life.. love staying at the cabins..
One of the most beautiful and picturesque places on earth. So incredibly beautiful!! The views of Mt Rainier are wonderful.
So many people with no chance of social distancing if you wanted to hike up from the visitors center. There were large groups of people not wearing masks and people were crowded together. Rangers were very nice, but it would be great if they reminded people to wear masks in crowds.
Omgosh!! First time there and loved it. What an experience. Tons of places to hike, walk, venture. Campgrounds are beyond beautiful. The drive around the area is gorgeous. Waterfalls are a must see. Lots of pictures to take.
An amazing experience at the park! Loved the awesome views and the aroma of the pollen from the pine trees. Took in a picnic lunch and some hiking as well. This adventure at Mt.Rainer did not disappoint!
We hiked to Camp Muir yesterday. It's not easy, and it's vital to go with an experienced guide, bring enough water, food, layers, first emergency kit and a GPS. The weather changed from a hot and cleaned day to an hard whiteout when we were heading down. Be aware of the weather conditions and be safe.the view makes up for all the suffering.
There are no words to express how awe inspiring, how humbling, and how perfect Rainier is. I have lived most of my life able to see it, to visit it, and to enjoy it. Every time it gets better.
the skyline trail is an intermediate to difficult walk. you should have shoes that can handle rocky terrain and quads od steel. Its 6 miles of pure beauty
Beautiful day for a hike! We've done a few hikes on the mountain, but this one was like a little hidden surprise. Crossing the river was super fun, but seems a little scary at first.
When the mountain is out, you can get up close and really enjoy it's beauty. It's possible to drive around the entire mountain, stopping for hikes and photos in about 8 hours. Check the webcams for the parking lot to see if the clouds are covering the mountain, sometimes from the valley it's hiding, but when you get there it's out.
Mount Rainier National Park is BEAUTIFUL and FANTASTIC. Lots of camp sides, hiking sides, picnic side, plus you get to see and feel Green water river and White river. The scenery there is breath taking. Lots of things to do there.
Must visit place in the Pacific Northwest... you'll want to go again and again to watch incredible beauty it has to offer all year long.. Winter's visits are as magnificent as Summers.. great aerial picture 📷 opportunities
BEAUTIFUL! A must go to. Plan for for multiple days and if possible stay at the National Park Inn.
Great hiking and plenty of family friendly options. Convenient picnic spots and bathrooms if you plan out your day trip. Scenery is absolutely gorgeous. This was Grove of the Patriarchs (very easy, kid friendly trail)
Everything about this place was fantastic for what we seen. The only downfall is no dogs are allowed on the trails. They can only be where ever cars can drive and park. So if you do plan on bringing you're dog don't. It won't be as fun if you do.
Due to Covid-19 during the lunch hour for the staff they were letting in class every 5 minutes into Sunrise welcome center. Gift shop and restrooms open. Nice day for viewing the mountain and hiking.
From sunrise to paradise and every place in between. There is alot to do hike wise here. The skyline trail and glacier vista at paradise offers phenomenal views when it's not cloudy. The abundance of pikas and marmots as well as deer and black bears make you feel like it's relatively untouched by man. Recommend a visit if you're in the area. During the summer the wild flower blooms in the alpine meadows are fantastic.
Mt. Rainier, what is there to say? I could spend all day every day up there. The beauty speaks for itself. If you plan on going, leave early. We made it to Sunrise at 7am and the parking lot was nearly full. The trails were busy as well, but everyone there is searching for the same thing, a small piece of serenity.
Paradise - Mt Rainier is such a beautiful place to visit. Even saw 2 bucks on my hike! Nature at its finest. ❤️
Awesome place to connect with nature, great short jokes for kids.
This is a great national park with tons of hiking trails for any difficulty. Hiked the skyline trail at Paradise in mid June and the trail was completely snow covered, but enough people had already been on it that footprints were easy to follow. The views are gorgeous and I cannot wait to go back and hike more of the mountain!
On our top priority bucket list whenever we visit the Pacific Northwest is Paradise Meadows at Mount Rainier National Park. The best time to visit is late summer, when all the snow has melted off the trails and the flowers have come out. This time in early July everything off the parking lot was covered with snow. This is one of my favorite places on planet earth...
This is a great park! There are multiple different areas in the park you can go to to hike and camp and do other activities. We went to the Sunrise zone and hiked the Burrough mountain trail as well as the Fremont lookout. We also went to the Paradise zone and hiked the skyline trail and narada falls. There are lots of campgrounds that usually need to be reserved months ahead of time. The weather is usually very pleasant during the day but can be quite chilly in the mornings if you're starting your day early. Would definitely recommend coming here!
There's always something to do (or nothing at all!) In this beautiful place, whether I walk a paved trail, a dirt trail, snowshoe or climb to the top. The wildflowers have been especially good this summer.
Mount Rainier National Park is an amazing wonder of Washington state! Alpine lakes, flower fields, meadows, trees, wildlife.... The park has it all. And that's not including the main attraction - Mount Rainier! Be careful trying to hike some of the trails, as they can be dangerous. Altitude sickness is also a possibility at Paradise (a part of the park).
Never know when my last memory of the people I love and being at mt Rainer with my oldest son n his new wife and my mother is one memory i will cherish for eternity.... Thanks to all the great people who make life easier and free... God bless the usa.... # making America great again....
Had the most amazing day trip to the mountain with my 3 kids. Our first time. They loved it so much they’ve decided that this is where we will spend our camping trip this summer. (I’d love recommendations on a location for fishing.) By a happy accidental wrong turn we ended up on Sunrise to just catch the sunset! It was magical.
The vistas are breathtaking. The waterfalls are fabulous. The hairpin turns and roads are a race-car drivers delight. The trees are forever green and inviting. With arm-like branches beconing to you to enter, and never wanting you to leave. At the higher elevation be prepared for a chill, so bring something to huddle in by a toasty fire with food and drink to celebrate the beauty God has created. Pam Montanez 8/8/2020
Mt. Rainier is so majestic! I come from UT which is full of mountains, but this one really is in a league of its own. And the surrounding forests are ancient and beautiful. I loved that there was plenty to see just from pullouts along the road, as well as hikes of every level. And you can find hikes on every side of the mountain!
Gorgeous hikes and not too crowded once you're on a trail during Covid. Will be $30 entry fee. Unless youve got a national park pass
This Visit I got an amazing view.. just heaven 😍😍Before Visiting do check the weather for a better view.. ✌️
Man this place is super beautiful!! We went to silver falls and it was great! I would get there early. We were there at 7 and got a parking spot but by the time we left at 9 the parking lot was full.
This is such a beautiful drive. Waterfalls for days. Lush green everywhere you look. We live near by and went back 3 times within the week. Well worth the price. We will be back. 💜
Such a beautiful place to explore. Lots of great hiking and remarkable fields of wild flowers.
The visitor center at Paradise is a great place to take some easy hikes and the views are amazing! This picture is of Myrtle Falls which is an easy hike. I feel so very fortunate to live close enough to visit this beautiful place.
Went to paradise point . It has Awesome views. Got to see a black bear relaxing in the ice. Reflections lake was frozen on Jun 19, 2020. But luckily got one spot to take Rainier reflection from a small pool. Narada falls is worth a visit and so also Vista point.Park Rangers were very helpful and informative
Spectacular views all around the park. This park offers great waterfalls and amazing views of a huge mountain. Overall I find this park as super accessible as with very minimal hikes you can view almost all the famous points. Must visit on a bright sunny day. Around 2.5 hours from Seattle. Better to reach the park early morning to avoid traffic.
On a blue sky August day, It's just plain stunning! Wild flowers, glaciers, deep valleys, wild rivers, crags, distant peaks. Just don't go on a weekend, too many people to get to nature.
We hiked to the Fremont Lookout from Sunrise; it was beautiful. If you do this it's pretty easy to enter from the west via the Chinook Pass (SR 410). We also drove into Paradise the next day and preferred the Sunrise entrance.
A Beautiful Mountain. When you go to Washington please take the trip to this place.
The Majestic, beautiful, breathtaking snow clad mountain calls every admirer to visit her again and again. What a beauty !!! Will visit once more soon
Just loved it. The mountain is GIGANTIC. Entered at Nisqually. Reached before 9, and had 2 cars ahead of me. left at 11:20 and saw a 1000! cars trying to get in. I found plenty of parking at Paradise, 14 miles from the first pee stop which was 3 miles from the entrance. Needless to say - go early. Panorama point is little above snow line in some spots. if you're with kids be prepared to walk on snow. Temp was ideal. I had a tee, running 3/4 tights and a thermal over my tee. Perfect day for hiking!!!
Amazing place. Try to get all the key spots done. Fun, beautiful, neat ✌🏻
Absolutely gorgeous National Park. So glad we came here. Stunning trails, gorgeous views, great campground. Mount Rainer is a treasure and a must see.
I love this park! It is one of my all time favorite National parks. There is waterfalls everywhere! I only had a day visit here, but one of these days I would love to hike the wonderland trail!
The line to get in the park was quite a wait. Once in nothing was a problem. A bit of a crowd at Paradise, but not terrible. Only had one problem that was not the parks fault, some folks didn't pay attention to the signs and were walking on the meadows. 😥
I love visiting Mt Rainier! There are so many trails for all different skill levels. You can see things by driving through and at the same time enough stuff here that you could spend days in this park.
Amazing! Lived close by my entire life. Still is beautiful! 94 degrees still SNOW!
Insanely busy, but I don't blame people for wanting to enjoy the views. Line to get into the park took about 45 minutes, and many people drive extremely slow once inside the park. Would be nice if the pull over rule was enforced for 5 cars backed up behind. But, absolutely beautiful, I love coming here! Sad the visitors center was also closed due to covid.
